[Main Ingredients] Albendazole, ivermectin
[Description] This drug is of white or off-white tablets.
[Pharmacological Action] Antiparasitic agent. Albendazole has broad-spectrum anthelmintic activity and can kill nematodes, tapeworms and trematodes. Its mechanism of action is to bind to microtubule proteins in the helminth and prevent it from polymerizing with α-microtubule protein to form microtubules, thus affecting cell reproduction processes such as mitosis, protein assembly and energy metabolism in the helminth.
Ivermectin has a good anthelmintic and killing effect on entozoic and epizoic parasites, especially arthropod insects and entozoic nematodes, and it is mainly used to expel gastrointestinal nematodes, lungworms and epizoic parasites in cattle, sheep and other animals. Its anthelmintic mechanism is to promote the release of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) from presynaptic neurons, thus opening the GABA-mediated chloride ion channel. The chloride ion flow can reduce the impedance of the cell membrane and result in a slight depolarization of the rest potential of the postsynaptic membrane, thereby interfering with inter-neuromuscular signal transmission, causing the worms to relax and paralyze and further killing and expelling them from the body.
