[Veterinary Drug Name]
Generic name: Lactasin Tablets
Trade name: Changnuoxin
English name: Lactasin Tablets
Pinyin: Rumeisheng Pian
[Main Ingredients] Lactobacillus
[Description] This drug is of white or off-white tablets.
[Pharmacological Action] As a lactobacillus-based preparation, this drug ensures that each gram houses a minimum of 10 million viable Lactobacillus bacteria. Upon oral ingestion and subsequent arrival in the intestinal tract, it facilitates the breakdown of sugars into lactic acid, which in turn raises the intestinal acidity. This process helps to curb the growth of decay-causing bacteria and guards against protein fermentation, consequently diminishing intestinal gas formation.
[Drug Interaction] ① Lactase preparations may become ineffective due to the inhibitory effect of lactobacillus by antibacterial drugs. ② The activity of lactobacillus can be dampened by astringents, adsorbents, tinctures, and ethanol, which also leads to a decrease in its effectiveness.
[Function and Use] Digestive aid drug, for the treatment of indigestion, abnormal fermentation in the intestines, and diarrhea in young livestock.
[Dosage and Administration] Oral administration: 2-10 tablets/time for sheep and pigs; 10-30 tablets/time for foals and calves.
[Adverse Reaction] No adverse reactions have been observed with the proper use of the recommended dosage and administration.
[Precautions] It should not be co-administered with antibacterial drugs or adsorbents.
