[Description] This drug is of white tablets.
[Pharmacological Action] This drug is a sulfonamide antibacterial agent and has a strong inhibitory effect on most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. This drug is rarely absorbed when administered orally. It also has a good antibacterial effect on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria such as Streptococcus pyogenes, Salmonella and Pneumococcus, etc. Sulfanilamides are structurally similar to p-aminobenzoic acid, which can compete with p-aminobenzoic acid for the dihydrofolate synthetase in the bacteria, thus impeding the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid, ultimately affecting the synthesis of nucleic acids and inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria.
[Drug Interaction] (1) It has a synergistic effect when used with trimethoprim (antibacterial potentiating agent).
(2) Some drugs containing p-aminobenzoyl, such as procaine and tetracaine produce p-aminobenzoic acid in the body, and yeast tablets also contain p-aminobenzoic acid required for bacterial metabolism. Therefore, the combination reduces the action of this drug.
[Function and Use] Sulfonamide antibacterial agent, for the treatment of intestinal bacterial infections.
[Dosage and Administration] Oral administration: 2-4 tablets/time per 10kg of body weight for livestock, twice a day, administered for 3-5 consecutive days.
[Adverse Reaction] Long-term use may affect the gastrointestinal microbiota, causing the digestive tract dysfunction.
[Precautions] (1) The intestinal absorption rate of newborn livestock (1-2-day-old calves and piglets, etc.) is higher than that of young livestock.
(2) It should not be used for a long period of time and attention should be paid to the gastrointestinal function.
