[Main Ingredients] Cyromazine
[Description] This drug is of white or beige powder.
[Pharmacological Action] Cyromazine is an insecticide that inhibits the molting of dipteran larvae, particularly the first-instar larvae, thereby blocking fly maggot reproduction. It also prevents fly larvae from molting, leading to their death. When administered orally to chickens, even at very low concentrations in feces, it can completely eliminate fly maggots. At a fodder concentration of 1 mg/kg, it effectively controls the development of most fly maggots in feces; at 5 mg/kg, it is sufficient to control various types of fly maggots. Typically, the drug begins to exert its effects within 6-24 hours after administration, with its action lasting for 1-3 weeks.
After oral administration to chickens, cyromazine is poorly absorbed, and its primary metabolite in the body is melamine. It is primarily excreted unchanged via feces. Due to its low lipophilicity, cyromazine rarely residues in tissues and does not affect animal growth, egg-laying, or reproductive performance.
