[Description] This drug is of white or off-white powder.
[Pharmacological Action] Aminoglycoside antibiotics. Kanamycin is a narrow-spectrum antibiotic with strong antibacterial activity against most Gram-negative bacilli such as Escherichia coli, Proteus species, Salmonella, and Pasteurella multocida. Staphylococcus aureus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis are also relatively sensitive to kanamycin; Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), chlamydiae, anaerobes, fungi, etc., are usually not sensitive to kanamycin. Kanamycin is minimally absorbed when taken orally and is mostly excreted in its original form in the feces.
[Function and Use] Aminoglycoside antibiotics, for the treatment of intestinal infections caused by sensitive bacteria in chickens.
[Dosage and Administration] On the basis of this drug. Mixed drinking: 0.5-1.0g per 1L of water for chickens, administered for 3-5 consecutive days.
[Adverse Reaction] (1) Nephrotoxicity, ototoxicity, and neuromuscular blocking effects are present. Concomitant use with diuretics (such as furosemide, ethacrynic acid, etc.) and erythromycin may enhance the toxicity of this class of drugs.
(2) Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, NH4+, K+ and other cations can inhibit the antibacterial activity of aminoglycosides. Care should also be taken to control the concentration of cations in the culture medium during susceptibility testing.
[Precautions] This drug exhibits cross-resistance with other aminoglycoside drugs.
[Withdrawal Period] 28 days for chickens; 7 days for the withdrawal period for eggs.
